Hamecarer (the Refrigirator) is an art gallery housed in the historic building that once served as a storage facility for Gush Dan’s wholesale fruit and vegtable market. An industrial underground array of freezer rooms with massive yellow doors. In 2006, following the closure of the wholesale market, the cold storage facility also ceased operations. In 2018 the building was converted into a complex that includes an art gallery, as well as artist studios and a café.
I designed Hamecarer’s website, with information about current and past exhibitions, events and projects. The website was designed according to models of museum websites in Israel and around the world, and the color theme adopted from the iconic doors of the wholesale market’s cold storage rooms.
